Meet Monica - HonorSociety.org Marketing Director

Mar 27,2015

What interested me in HonorSociety.org is that I truly believe in the message that we are sending, which is to help motivated college students grow and excel both academically and professionally. I graduated from Texas Christian University in 2012 with a degree in Advertising/Public Relations. I am a member Pi Beta Phi as well as the honor societies Sigma Delta Pi and Phi Sigma Iota. I began my career in the fashion industry in the Neiman Marcus buying offices where I was an assistant buyer for couture in the online division. It was time for me to make a major career change and was looking for experience in technology and the startup world. Ultimately this led me to my position here at HonorSociety.org and I could not be more excited about this next chapter in my career.  In my time outside of the office, I run a fashion blog called 45 Fairmount, run half-marathons and love to travel.

Education has always been important value to me personally. I believe that a person’s eagerness to learn demonstrates the impact they want to (and will) make in the world. Learning is something you do every day and it is exciting to me! I want to see and help students grow academically and help them find the right tools and resources to have a successful career. Through my college experiences, I know what it takes to maintain and grow an academic organization.

I will be leading the marketing efforts for HonorSociety.org, primarily focusing on working on starting chapters at universities across the United States and managing the content on our blog. This is going to be a big year for HonorSociety.org and I hope you are just excited as we are! You will be seeing growth in the number of chapters on college campuses across the country. We will also be sharing articles with you from our team of HonorSociety.org writers so you can get your weekly updates on what’s going on in the world of education, career, and more! I will also be involved in the planning of our upcoming member trips. We have a trip scheduled for Washington, D.C. this summer and one for Los Angeles in the winter. These are both amazing opportunities for members from across the country to meet each other in person, network, and get to explore such important cities in the United States.

This all being said, I would absolutely love to hear from you. Whether you want to start at chapter at your university, you want to contribute to our blog, or you just want to share your experiences with HonorSociety.org. This is your organization and I want you to be as involved as you want to be. I am all ears and excited to be a part of this organization and help you on your academic and professional journeys!
