Starlight, Star Bright
Today’s article might be a little biased on my part. My cousin, Cheryl Lane, has written several books that I absolutely love! She has written a whole series called the Wellington Cross series (which is sooo good, I highly recommend it). She has also written the first book of her new series; the series is called the Starlight series, and the book is called Starlight Wishes. This new book is the one that I will be reviewing today! I will be giving my reasons for picking up this book.
1. The story takes place on the beach. The storyline of the book takes place in Virginia Beach, Virginia (a city that is near and dear to my heart). I love that the book takes place in a town that I know because it was easy for me to visualize where the different scenes took place, and it was really cool to think, “wow, I’ve been there!” while reading this book. Even though fall is quickly approaching, this is still the perfect read. It will make you feel like you are sitting in the sand listening to the ocean waves while feeling the sea breeze.
2. The story is unique. I cannot really tell you much about the storyline because it would ruin the book for you; however, I can tell you that it is very unique. The story follows a daughter and father in their quest for love, acceptance, and redemption. The plot takes several twists and turns and will leave you wondering what will happen next. The ending really makes you think, and it will confuse you if you are not careful. It is so mind-bending and mind-blowing that you will not see it coming. I love stories like this and I hope you will too!
3. The characters are relatable. I love the characters in this story. Each one has their own dimensions and struggles to deal with. The characters deal with death, drug addiction, losing loved ones, finding love, accepting help, and other equally important and hard issues. This story will hit home for anyone who has lived through the experiences mentioned in the book. For those who haven’t been through these situations, it will make you think and will bring up emotions in you that you didn’t think that you had. Each character brings their own element to the story and really adds to the plotline.
There are other reasons to read this book, but these are the most important ones. I hope that you will give the book a chance. I will do some shameless plugging here for my cousin, but I really hope that you will read this book and support her in her endeavor to become an author. You can get her books for the Kindle and a hard copy on Amazon; you can also purchase a hard copy from Barnes & Noble. I highly recommend all of her books and I do hope that you will try them!
