Honor Society® Expert FAQ

Are scholarships available for certificate programs?

Yes, scholarships may be available for certificate programs, but eligibility varies by provider, school, credential, and program length. A scholarship for degree-seeking students may exclude a stand-alone certificate.

What to know before you act

Search the program’s department, workforce organizations, employers, and industry associations. Ask whether aid covers tuition only or also required equipment and certification costs. Federal aid is a separate question: an eligible school may offer both eligible and ineligible programs.

Workforce Pell expanded access to certain approved short-term programs beginning in 2026; it does not cover every short course or bootcamp. Have the financial aid office confirm the specific program’s current eligibility. Use Honor Society’s directory to identify additional scholarship leads without assuming every listing accepts certificate students.

Your next steps

  • Confirm the exact certificate name and enrollment schedule.
  • Request written award and federal-aid eligibility information.
  • Compare total costs with confirmed funding before paying a deposit.

For the next step, use the scholarship directory. Find additional award leads and check each provider’s eligibility and application rules.
