Honor Society® Expert FAQ
What is a college application fee waiver?
A college application fee waiver removes the application charge for eligible applicants under a college or platform’s policy. It does not automatically cover enrollment deposits, testing, housing, or other costs.
What to know before you act
Eligibility may be based on financial circumstances or another accepted criterion. Some colleges use a shared platform waiver, while others provide their own process or charge no application fee. International-applicant policies can differ.
Check the college’s instructions before paying, since refunds may not be available if you later obtain a waiver. Honor Society’s college-list guide can help track application costs alongside deadlines and academic fit. A waiver makes applying more accessible, but the college’s usual admission review still applies.
Your next steps
- Check eligibility and the accepted waiver method.
- Ask whether counselor verification or other confirmation is required.
- Track remaining application-related costs separately.
