For Undergraduate Juniors:

  • MKT major or BUS major with an MKT concentration
  • 3.25 or better cumulative GPA
  • Top 20% of senior marketing majors or senior business majors with a marketing option

For Undergraduate Seniors:

  • MKT major or BUS major with an MKT concentration
  • 3.25 or better cumulative GPA
  • Top 20% of senior marketing majors or senior business majors with a marketing option

Graduate students in Marketing or Receiving their MBA: 

  • MKT major or BUS major with an MKT concentration
  • 3.25 or better cumulative GPA
  • Completed 50% of their masters degree requirements and rank in the top 20% of their class

What is the history of Mu Kappa Tau?

Mu Kappa Tau National Marketing Honor Society was founded in 1966 by members of Pi Sigma Epsilon, the National, Professional Fraternity in Marketing, Sales Management and Selling.  It was through commitment to the advancement of study in the field of Marketing and the developing need for recognition of academic excellence within the Marketing discipline that Mu Kappa Tau was created.

Based on the information, here is our review:

Our first observation is: that this is one of the only major-specific societies out there, giving it great weight in the sense that it is a small, niche community with room to network. 

Our second observation was: Students do not need to necessarily be a full-time marketing major, but can join if they are in the field of business and express an interest in Marketing in their coursework. 

Our third observation was: that members are able to attend conventions, a luxury only a few honor societies are afforded, making this a great place for one to begin their career.
