Bhargav Molaka

I, Bhargav Molaka am a SAP BW Consultant at TATA Consultancy Services, a leading global player in Information Technology with two years of experience in Business Intelligence. Having had a diversified learning experience in a corporate environment has immensely shaped me up as a professional. I wanted to enhance my learning by returning to academics and so I'm pursuing my masters in ‘Management and Information Systems' at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater.

Having graduated from SASTRA, a renowned deemed university for its academic and research; I was urged to work in an IT environment to gain some professional experience and practical knowledge on the lifecycle of an IT project.

During my tenure of 2 years at TCS, I have been exposed to all facets of Project Consulting such as Requirement gathering and scope analysis, programming and development, Supporting and maintaining an executed framework. As a SAP BI consultant, I've worked at different levels of Business Intelligence like Data Modeling, Data Extractions, Job Scheduling and Reporting.

My project at TCS is based on an onshore - offshore operating model, and it gave me a good exposure in teaming and collaborating with the on-shore members, as well as the clients. This broadened my vision, helped me gain a different perspective and in turn shaped me into becoming a full-fledged BI professional. Working in the Information Management domain enabled me to gain confidence and to be appreciative of the focus and subjects of MIS. I have always performed well in all my engagements and by committing to timely delivery with exceptional quality and dedication which received appreciations from the clients. I then realized that the Master's degree in the same stream in a renowned university would give me an added advantage in taking me to greater heights in my career. As a part of the engagement that involved working with Japanese clients, I took a personal initiative to learn Japanese language by completing a certification on Japanese Language Proficiency (JLPT). This helped me to build a good relationship with the customer and enabled in better understanding of the requirements that made me stand out amongst my other team members. I also gathered domain specific knowledge and completed certification relating to Insurance domain to understand the business better. Thus, I have always been passionate about learning and staying abreast.

All through my education, I have always exhibited a high level of competitiveness and inquisitiveness to learn. My final year project as a part of B.Tech (ECE) was based on 'Electro Magnetic System for Train Track Crack Detection and Traction Enhancement'. The objective of the project was to detect the cracks on a train tracks and to alert with a warning message which was an integration of electronics with communications system. I had also taken up In-Plant training in CNC & PLC Systems at BHEL, India to gain more exposure and experience in the industry.

Having gained two years' experience in Business Intelligence project, I firmly believe ‘Management and Information Systems' at OSU would be the right course to take my knowledge and career to a greater level. I was also thrilled to know about the OSU’s emphasis towards Business Analytics.

I have always been ambitious in pursuing my interests and scale up my potential to greater heights. OSU is precisely the university that I believe will help me excel because it can give me the kind of knowledge and skills that suit my interests and goal in life. Any kind of financial support would definitely help me in a great extend to travel towards my target and achieve my goals.
