Brandon Ruiz

I am currently an incoming Senior at Carroll Senior High School In Southlake, Texas. My parents moved here 4 years ago so that I could attend one of the best public schools in Texas while playing varsity tennis on one of the best high school tennis teams in the state . My love for tennis sdtarted at the age of 3 I have been an athlete ever since. My goals were initially to play D1 tennis and therefore I worked hard to attend drills, private lessons and spent my weekend going to tournaments. Although I did achieved numerous trophies and won countless tournaments, I wasn't able to balance it with my academics and therefore my academics plumetid. As a result, I decided to everything within my will to balance the two and am very happy with my results this year in both but especially my academics. In fact, we were able to get to state as a team this year. I have continued to play tennis and have been on Varsity since my Freshman year and will continue thru my senior year. When it comes to my career, I have set my goals on a career in dentistry:Orthodontics to be exact. To prepare, I have taken honors Medical Terminology and Honors Anatomy and Physiology and really done great in both. I also was able to test out of advanced Spanish levels 1-4. I really do believe that my much improved grades this past junior year are a true reflection of a new mind set and motivation to excel in my academic path.
