About

I am currently enrolled at the College of Coastal Georgia as well as Georgia Southwestern State University where I'm studying Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. I have been a police officer in my home town of Brunswick Georgia since 2006. As a child I grew up in a very strict, southern home. My father wasn't very educated but my mother was a school teacher and loved her job. Not a soul on either side of my family had a college degree except my mother, who pushed me to be the best I could be, mentally and physically. I was very active in sports and played baseball all the way from little league to high school where sadly, I ended my field of dreams career. I entered college after high school and began a long and interesting journey into the field of Criminal Justice. I love being a police officer and have always wanted to do this kind of work, but recently found I am very good with numbers. During my accident reconstruction training, I found I love the organization and simplicity of numbers. I've always been a little nervous when it came to math but I guess I grew out of it. I was turned onto accounting by a friend and decided to take the first accounting course offered by my college. I loved it! Since, I have changed my course of study to accounting and hope to obtain a rewarding career in my new found passion!

Goals and interests

Career goal

I'm currently enrolled in the Business Administration program at the College of Coastal Georgia with a concentration in Accounting. I hope to have a smooth transfer from my current occupation as a police officer to a position in accounting.

Graduate school interests

After graduating with my bachelor's degree, I wish to obtain my master's degree in accounting.

Outside the classroom

I have always loved to play baseball but now have to settle for softball when I get a chance. I occasionally play golf with the boys when I'm not stuck in a text book and love to practice Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at the gym. I also love to spend time with the two K-9's I have. They bring joy to my life but not as much as my wife and new born son! That has cut the hobby thing down just a bit.
