Goals and interests

Career goal

I am about to complete my M.M. in opera performance from the University of Oklahoma. This summer, I plan to attend career development sessions in Europe, and I hope this coming year to open a voice studio and find chorus work in the Dallas area. I plan to establish myself in Dallas and begin performing in Young Artist Programs, which are similar to apprenticeships, and soon thereafter to start performing full roles professionally. My dream is to sing the title role in Carmen on a professional stage! The job path of an opera singer is very similar to that of a free lancer, which means that I will own my own business and work for short periods of time. An opera gig could be anywhere from a two or three week summer commitment to a season long engagement at a medium to large size opera house.

Graduate school interests

I pursued my graduate studies at the University of Oklahoma. As Opera Fellow, I received a tuition waiver and have been responsible only for yearly fees, and tuition for classes outside my degree path. I have performed the roles of Olga in Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin, la Zia Principessa in Puccini's Suor Angelica, and la Ciesca in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi. I will graduate with My Master's degree in May this year (2017).

Outside the classroom

I've always loved European history, which is important to understand if one wishes to have a 3 dimensional idea of the development of Opera as the pinnacle of European art forms. I find languages fascinating, and plan next to take a German class. I also enjoy traveling and painting watercolors.
