I am 27 years old and once upon a time I believed that my dream of becoming a nurse was over. I switched it to social work and I felt heart broken. However, I couldn’t be a 4.0 student to qualify for any nursing program. I worked full time and I felt like I had to go to school full time (bad idea). Then a program at eagle gate college opened up and I happened to hear about it. So many fellow coworkers (nurses), patients, and my bosses have all begged me to reconsider changing my major back to nursing. So I did it! I’m in the nursing program and going strong! I even became that 4.0 student I didn’t think was even possible. I grew up in the foster care program and I will be the 1st in my family to graduate college. I was told so many times as a young kid that college wouldn’t be possible. That my IQ was to low to ever be something. I am something! I am a CNA who will become a nurse!
