About

My name is Brittaney Douglas, and I am a passionate professional with a diverse background in education, technology, and behavioral health. I am committed to creating meaningful learning experiences that empower individuals, especially children, to reach their full potential.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Seton Hall University and have earned certifications in Education and Software Engineering. My journey began in the classroom, where I taught middle and high school students, designing engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to meet the needs of diverse learners. I integrated technology into my teaching methods to make learning more accessible and relevant, fostering critical thinking and creativity in my students.

Currently, I work as a Registered Behavioral Therapist at Mosaic Pediatric Therapy, where I support children with special needs in developing social and emotional skills. This role has deepened my understanding of the importance of individualized care and the power of patience and empathy. I take pride in celebrating every milestone and helping children overcome challenges to achieve their goals.

My passion for technology has also shaped my approach to education. While earning my Software Engineering Certification at North Carolina State University, I gained skills in web development, user interface design, and coding. These technical abilities allow me to integrate modern tools into learning environments, preparing students for success in a digital world.

Beyond my professional roles, I have a strong commitment to community service and advocacy. During my time as a Community Outreach Organizer, I worked to support underserved populations and promote equity. This experience continues to inspire me to create opportunities for all learners, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Whether I am teaching, designing user-friendly digital experiences, or providing therapeutic support, I am driven by a desire to uplift and inspire others. My diverse experiences have shaped my holistic approach to education and personal development, and I look forward to continuing to make a positive impact in the lives of those I serve.

Goals and interests

Career goal

Throughout my career, I have demonstrated a passion for empowering and educating children, particularly those from diverse backgrounds and with unique needs. Each role I have undertaken reflects my commitment to fostering growth, learning, and inclusivity. By integrating my experiences in education, behavioral health, technology, and community outreach, I am making a meaningful difference in my chosen field.
As an educator, I worked in middle and high schools, including roles at Bradford Preparatory School and Sun Valley High School, where I created engaging and inclusive learning environments. I diversified teaching methods, integrated technology into lessons, and tailored instruction to meet the unique needs of each student. These experiences allowed me to connect with learners on a personal level and inspire their academic and personal growth. Seeing students overcome challenges and gain confidence solidified my belief in the transformative power of education and deepened my commitment to the profession.
My current role as a Registered Behavioral Therapist at Mosaic Pediatric Therapy has further honed my ability to support children with special needs. I work closely with clients to develop social and emotional skills, using data-driven approaches to track progress and tailor interventions. This role requires empathy, patience, and adaptability—qualities I bring to every aspect of my work. By fostering a supportive and nurturing environment, I help children overcome obstacles and reach milestones, making a tangible impact on their lives.
My background in technology also plays a significant role in how I approach education and advocacy. While earning a certification in software engineering from North Carolina State University, I developed skills in web development, user experience design, and coding. I have applied this knowledge to create innovative solutions, such as prototyping applications and designing digital tools. These experiences have equipped me to integrate technology into the classroom, empowering students with skills essential for success in a digital world. My technical expertise also enables me to connect with students who may be more engaged by interactive, tech-driven learning methods.
Community outreach has been another cornerstone of my career. As a Community Outreach Organizer at the University of Medicine and Dentistry, I developed and implemented initiatives to support vulnerable populations. This role taught me the importance of advocacy and equity, principles that guide my work as an educator. I strive to ensure that every child, regardless of background or ability, has access to the resources and opportunities they need to thrive.
In every role I have held, my passion for education and empowerment has driven me to make a difference. Whether by helping a struggling student understand a difficult concept, supporting a child with special needs in reaching a milestone, or equipping learners with technical skills for the future, I am committed to creating a lasting impact. My diverse experiences have prepared me to meet the challenges of teaching with creativity, empathy, and determination. I am proud to dedicate my career to fostering growth, learning, and inclusivity, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Graduate school interests

Pursuing My Passion for Educating Diverse Populations is an interest and passion of mine.
Education is the foundation of empowerment, and I have dedicated my career to helping children from diverse backgrounds achieve their full potential. My experiences in technology, behavioral health, and education have shaped my approach to teaching and reinforced my passion for working with children of all abilities. I aspire to create inclusive, innovative, and supportive learning environments where every child can thrive.
My journey began with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Seton Hall University, where I honed my skills in communication, creativity, and critical thinking. These skills have been central to my work as an educator, where I developed and implemented engaging lessons tailored to students’ diverse needs. As I advanced in my career, I sought to deepen my expertise by earning certifications in education and software engineering. These programs not only broadened my knowledge but also provided me with the technical skills to integrate modern tools into my teaching practices, making learning more accessible and relevant to today’s digital world.
In addition to my classroom experience, my work as a Registered Behavioral Therapist at Mosaic Pediatric Therapy has given me a deeper understanding of the unique challenges faced by children with special needs. Collaborating with children, families, and colleagues, I have used data-driven strategies to foster social and emotional growth. This role has taught me patience, adaptability, and the importance of celebrating every small victory, all of which I carry into my approach to education. Working in behavioral health has solidified my belief that all children deserve equitable opportunities to learn and succeed, regardless of their circumstances.
My background in technology has further enhanced my ability to connect with students and prepare them for the future. While pursuing my software engineering certification at North Carolina State University, I worked on projects that required collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving—skills I aim to instill in my students. By incorporating tools like coding, design, and digital literacy into the classroom, I hope to empower children with the skills they need to thrive in a technology-driven world. This integration of tech into education is particularly impactful for students from underrepresented communities, providing them with opportunities to break barriers and excel in competitive fields.
Beyond academics, my work in community outreach has shaped my commitment to fostering equity in education. As a Community Outreach Organizer, I witnessed how access to resources and support could transform lives. These experiences inspire me to create a classroom environment that celebrates diversity, promotes inclusion, and encourages every student to embrace their unique strengths.
Ultimately, my diverse experiences in education, behavioral health, and technology have prepared me to make a meaningful impact as a teacher. My goal is to inspire children to believe in their potential, equip them with the tools they need to succeed and foster a love for learning that lasts a lifetime. I am excited to continue this journey, combining my passion for teaching with my dedication to supporting and uplifting diverse populations of students.
