About
I’m a dedicated special education teacher, a first-generation college graduate from James Madison University, and someone deeply committed to creating inclusive learning environments for all students—especially those with significant disabilities. My journey has been shaped by personal adversity, deep compassion, and a drive to break barriers in education. Balancing two jobs while pursuing a full-time degree has challenged me in every way, but it has also fueled my passion for advocacy, connection, and meaningful change. I believe in empowering teachers through professional development that bridges the gap between special education and general education, ensuring every student—regardless of ability—feels seen, supported, and valued.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
My intended job path is to continue working as a special education teacher, with a long-term goal of developing and leading professional development programs that support general and special education teachers in effectively serving students with significant disabilities. I am especially passionate about helping educators build inclusive classrooms, where students with diverse needs can generalize academic and social-emotional skills. Eventually, I hope to take on a leadership or coaching role within a school district or educational organization, where I can advocate for equity, provide hands-on training, and influence systemic change in how students with disabilities are supported across all learning environments.
- Graduate school interests
I am considering pursuing graduate school to deepen my expertise in special education and leadership, with the goal of becoming a stronger advocate for students with significant disabilities and a resource for the educators who serve them. My experiences in the classroom, combined with the personal challenges I’ve overcome, have fueled a desire to create professional development systems that empower teachers to meet the needs of all learners. Graduate studies will provide the advanced knowledge, research skills, and practical strategies I need to design inclusive programs, support school teams, and drive lasting change in education. I am eager to build on my foundation and take the next step toward becoming a leader in special education and equity-focused instructional practices.
