About
I am currently a student at Kean University studying Therapeutic Recreation along with Occupational Therapy. I am anticipating on graduating with my Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation in May 2016 and later be certified by the end of that year. Once graduated, I intend on attending Grad School to receive my Master's degree in Occupational Therapy. As a student, I am very focused in my studies along with doing better for my community. In high school I was involved in a dual enrollment program that allowed me to take college classes in high school. Once I started college I also always took the maximum amount of credits along with summer classes. By putting in the extra work I am eligible to graduate a year earlier then projected. Most students obtain their degrees within four years of beginning college, whereas I will be receiving mine in three years. I am also currently a manager at a clothing store, Justice while I am attending school. It teaches me to live a balanced life along with improve my leadership and communication skills. Soon I hope to gain a job in a long term care facility or hospital setting to begin a new career in the field I have grown to love.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
After I graduate Kean University with my Bachelor's degree I intend on becoming a certified therapeutic recreation specialist (CTRS) who professionally works to improve the emotional, physical, and cognitive well-being of disabled or sick individuals through treatment services and recreational activity. Once becoming a licensed occupational therapist after grad school, I then attend on pursuing that field specifically focusing on geriatrics. I am extremely interested in TBIs, amputees, and dementia clients/ patients and hope to work in a hospital or long term care facility.
- Graduate school interests
I hope to attend grad school in New Jersey where I currently reside. Primarily I would like to stick with the school I currently attend which is Kean University located in Union, New Jersey. The grad school affiliated with Kean University is Nathan Weiss Graduate College that has a very competitive program for Occupational Therapy. I am also interested in attending Seton Hall as well for their great program in OT as well.
