About

I am a senior Environmental Engineering student at Colorado State University with a strong interest in water resources and hydraulics. Alongside my coursework, I work with Van Horn Engineering in Estes Park, where I have gained hands-on experience with hydraulic modeling, floodplain projects, and civil engineering work in Colorado mountain communities. I am especially interested in applying engineering to real-world water systems and continuing to build my technical and professional experience as I finish my degree.

Goals and interests

Career goal

After graduation, I intend to pursue a career in water resources engineering with a focus on hydraulics. As I gain experience, I hope to move further into river mechanics and develop a stronger understanding of how rivers and streams respond to both natural processes and engineered changes. I would especially like to continue working with watersheds and communities along Colorado's Front Range while working toward professional licensure as a PE.

Graduate school interests

At this time, I plan to enter the workforce after completing my bachelor's degree rather than immediately pursuing graduate school. I am open to returning to school in the future, particularly once I have gained more professional experience and have a clearer idea of the area I would like to specialize in. Ideally, I would pursue graduate education with support from an employer and choose a program that complements my professional experience and long-term goal of becoming a licensed Professional Engineer.

Outside the classroom

Outside of school and work, I enjoy spending time outdoors in the Colorado mountains, running, doing yoga, and spending time with my dog. I also enjoy cooking and experimenting with new recipes, hosting trivia and community events, and spending time with friends and family. Living in a small mountain community has also made community involvement an important part of my life, and I enjoy finding ways to stay connected and contribute locally.
