About

As a dedicated advocate for truth and justice, I aim to bridge the gap between education, cultural preservation, and civil rights advocacy. Pursuing a double major in History and Anthropology with a minor in Museum Studies at Texas A&M University, I am driven by a passion for uncovering historical truths, amplifying marginalized voices, and combating the erasure of minority experiences. My ultimate goal is to serve as a teacher, curator, and civil rights lawyer, fostering understanding through education and effecting systemic change through advocacy. I am committed to using my voice and work to shine light on injustices and inspire others to stay true to their causes, exemplifying leadership as a Black woman determined to make a meaningful impact.

Goals and interests

Career goal

My intended career path begins with teaching history at the middle or high school level while incorporating museum education practices to inspire a love for learning and truth in younger generations. I then plan to transition into museum education and curation, focusing on accurately representing marginalized histories and amplifying minority voices in museum spaces. Later, I aim to attend law school to specialize in civil rights law, using legal advocacy to combat injustices against minority communities, address systemic issues like historical erasure and educational inequities, and effect meaningful change. Throughout my journey, I strive to blend education, curation, and advocacy to build a more inclusive and equitable society.

Graduate school interests

My graduate school interests center on advancing my expertise in education, museum studies, and cultural anthropology to achieve my career goals in teaching, curation, and civil rights advocacy. I plan to pursue an M.Ed. to enhance my teaching skills and certification, enabling me to create engaging, historically accurate curricula for diverse learners. Additionally, I aim to earn a master’s in Museum Studies with a research focus on historical erasure in museum spaces, particularly how curatorial practices can amplify underrepresented voices. Long-term, I aspire to complete a Ph.D. in Cultural Anthropology, exploring the connections between pre-ancient Africa and the African diaspora, the persistence of African traditions in Creole and Vodou cultures, and the broader impact of colonialism. These academic pursuits reflect my commitment to uncovering historical truths, fostering cultural understanding, and advocating for systemic change.
