About
I was raised by a single mother alongside my younger brother, and my upbringing has played a significant role in shaping the person I am today. When my parents divorced (I was 9 years old), my father also chose to no longer be involved in my life. Although that was difficult to understand and accept, it taught me at an early age the importance of resilience, loyalty, and appreciating the people who choose to stand beside you.
Throughout my life, athletics have been a major part of who I am. Sports have taught me discipline, teamwork, leadership, and the value of hard work. I have also always enjoyed school, not only for the opportunity to learn but for the relationships I have built with teachers and classmates. I genuinely enjoy getting to know people, encouraging others, and bringing positivity into any environment. One of my favorite recognitions was being voted "Mr. Sunshine" by my peers. While it may not be a traditional academic award, it means a great deal to me because it reflects the kind of person I strive to be and the impact I hope to have on those around me.
My 18 years have not been without challenges, and I have learned that life does not always go according to plan. However, I have never wanted my circumstances to define my future. Instead, I have tried to approach adversity with determination, a positive attitude, and the belief that hard work can lead to better opportunities.
My ultimate goal is to earn a law degree and become a practicing attorney. I have a strong sense of right and wrong and believe deeply in equality, fairness, and treating others with respect. My own life experiences have helped me understand that not everyone faces the same circumstances or has the same opportunities. I want to pursue a career where I can advocate for others, stand up for what is right, and make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
I believe my greatest strength is not simply what I have accomplished, but how I have chosen to respond to the challenges I have faced. I hope to bring that same determination, compassion, and positive outlook to college, the legal profession, and every opportunity that lies ahead.
