About
My name is Carmen Janiselle Hernandez Zengotita. I was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and moved to Florida at the age of nine. Throughout middle and high school, I have received A and AB Honor Rolls, perfect attendance, and citizenship awards. Because of my academic achievements, I was accepted into Professional and Technical High School, in which I can graduate with both a high school diploma and a certification in the technical program of my choice. Entering this school helped me realize my dream: to become a pharmacist. I successfully graduated from high school with a 3.92 GPA and a certification in the pharmacy technician program.
Currently, I am a certified and registered pharmacy technician. As a pharmacy technician, I have learned the skills of medical and pharmaceutical terminologies, pharmaceutical calculations, pharmacy practice ethics, prescription filling, basic anatomy, patient care and interaction, computer skills, and HIPAA regulations. Also, I volunteer at the Florida Hospital in the Endoscopy department where I file patient, anesthesia charts, disinfect all procedure and patient rooms while maintaining a smooth and welcoming atmosphere for incoming patients. Volunteering at the Florida Hospital helps me develop and master interpersonal and multitasking skills in order to become a better co-worker and pharmacy technician for staffs and patients, respectively.
I am also a college sophomore at Valencia College completing my Associates of Arts degree in General Studies in order to enter the pharmacy school of my dream: University of Florida College of Pharmacy. At Valencia College, I have received citizenship awards and was honored to be on the Dean's and President's list for the entire academic year of 2015 (Fall, Spring, and Summer). My goals are to successfully graduate from Valencia College and be admitted to the University of Florida College of Pharmacy to obtain my doctorate degree. Not only do I want to work as a pharmacist, but I want to open a pharmacy and provide quality and affordable medical care and customer service to all patients in need for life-saving treatment.
