I have always pushed myself to schedule time for researching, attending extra help meetings, and studying at home. By choosing to challenge myself academically, enrolling myself in the most difficult Honors and Advanced Placement classes, I have not only tackled the material, but also excelled in all of them. I have been enrolled in rigorous science classes, knowing that my future career depends on the knowledge I gain from this field of study. I have been drawn to the complexity of the health field, specifically Pharmaceutical Science, to help, heal, and educate people.

Throughout my high school years I have earned several awards and honors, and participated in many clubs that helped my community. One of the honors being The National Hispanic Recognition Award (NHRA). This was very prestigious and notable achievement. One of the biggest ways I have helped my community was through the club Bilingual Buddies, a club for volunteers who speak both English and Spanish to dedicate our time to help, teach, and mentor elementary school kids who do not speak English fluently. As the school year progresses and I continue to be a mentor to them, I am amazed to see how a small child who could not speak English transforms into a confident and conversational child interacting joyfully with their classmates.

I look forward to continue learning and helping my community as I advance into college.
