About

My name is Felicia Zamora, and I am an adult reentry student, wife, and mother of two from Watsonville, California. I returned to higher education after many years in the workforce and recently completed my undergraduate studies in business before entering the MBA program, where I am focusing on nonprofit leadership and donor relations. Balancing school, family life, and community involvement has strengthened my resilience, time management, and empathy, and it has deepened my commitment to serving families and communities like my own. I stay actively involved through volunteer work and service on local boards, and my long-term goal is to use my education to support and expand nonprofit programs that create equitable opportunities for children and families

Goals and interests

Career goal

My intended job path is to work in nonprofit donor relations or grant writing, ideally in a role that combines relationship-building with strategic fundraising and communications. I want to support organizations like community foundations, hospitals, or schools in securing the resources they need to serve children and families. In the long term, I hope to grow into a leadership role in the nonprofit sector and eventually help build or lead a nonprofit in Watsonville, using my MBA training to strengthen programs, deepen donor engagement, and expand impact in my community.

Graduate school interests

As a graduate student in the Responsible Business MBA program at CSU Monterey Bay, my interests center on nonprofit leadership, donor relations, and ethical, community-focused management. I am especially drawn to courses and experiences that deepen my skills in fundraising, financial analysis, and strategic planning for mission-driven organizations. I am also interested in leadership, communication, and governance topics that teach how to build inclusive, values-based organizations that serve diverse communities effectively. Ultimately, my graduate studies are focused on preparing me to lead or support nonprofits that improve opportunities and outcomes for children and families in my community.
