Casandra Barend

I am currently studying a digital journalism major at Penn State University World Campus. I decided to continue my education to earn a bachelor's degree when my son was first accepted into college. I have always believed that parents are the example for their children. I may have decided late in life to be that educational example, but I am doing it now. I believe that we can best lead our children by showing that the hard work can be accomplished. I strive everyday to put my best foot forward to encourage my son to do the same. I am currently his educational guide. I am also home-schooling my youngest son in the fall, where he will begin kindergarten. I think that an education is important to have and will continue to help grow not only my own education, but my children's as well.
