Goals and interests

Career goal

My name is Cashmere Wiggins or Cassie, which is my middle name. I was born and raised in the city of Chicago where my mother had me at a young age. I have a pretty big family numbering 18-22 aunts and uncles with multiple cousins. I have worked many jobs from store manager of Subway to manager of Food 4 Less and Walmart. After working retail for so many years, my desire has now changed unto wanting to teach. It has always been a passion of mine, to teach young children. When the government went through freezing accounts and the teacher went on strike, my desire became to disappear. I always wanted a career that that set in stone and I wouldn’t have to worry about. So I went to school for Business and then Nursing and eventually ended back into education. My initial goal is to have my own Day Care facility. Which I am working on now as I continue my education. I knew I wanted to restart in education after I had my son. I wanted to be in his life and I knew becoming a nurse or a Pediatrician would take me away from the first couple years of his life. I didn’t want that, so I figured I could make the same amount of money as a nurse if I would open my own Day Care. Plus, I would be my own boss. Now, that I am in school pursuing my degree and my dreams are becoming real, I would like to push a bit further and earn my Masters in Educational Psychology and Doctorate in Special Education.

Graduate school interests

I am current;y enrolled at Kaplan University, in the process of earning my Masters in Educational Psychology. Once I am done there, I want to continue my education in child psychology or Special Needs at Capella University.

Outside the classroom

I love simply being outside. So anything that has to do with being outdoors, I will consider. Another hobby is traveling. I have had the opportunity to travel to 4 countries and this is just the beginning.
