Volunteering

  • I serve on Student council as the Red Cross Liaison and Blood Drive Coordinator for the Red Cross. They host drives around the country to help meet the need of 30,000 blood units a day. With them I've hosted +9 drives for patients in critical care. Recruited for 30% donor increase, set up drives, checked-in donors, and ran successful donations. Mentoring next year's coordinator to continue our school's legacy and community impact. Organized and signed-up donors, and promoted drives through community outreach and in-person recruitment. On track for 300 more pints and top tier program honors. Volunteered over 150+ hours so far.

  • Key Club is centered around service and encourages members to address local and global needs. NHS focuses on academic excellence and requires 35 annual volunteer hrs. Both are communities of leaders where you can grow as a leader and a person. In both of these clubs I got to serve at unique events and opportunities like knitting hats for cancer patients or writing cards to elderly homes. This allowed me to have a simple impact in the community outside of my usual work, exposing me to more diverse people. Additionally in NHS I worked hard to uphold high academic standards and class rigor.
