About

I see myself as a strong willed person that can persevere through anything and everything. I grew up in “the bush”, also known as native villages, where taking the easy way out was never an option. In all of my eighteen years that I have been alive I still see opportunity to grow, explore, and learn something new every day. In my off time when I am not at school or work I enjoy playing sports including volleyball and soccer. I am enrolled at Wasilla High School full time currently, and I hope to study both in state and nationally after high school to expand my knowledge.
Ever since I was a little girl I have gladly volunteered at the local elementary school my mom works at. Where ever we live or move to, I always make sure to visit her school and help as much as I can. The jobs can range from babysitting other teachers’ children and cleaning up messes, to sorting out crayons and laminating papers. I do not log my hours because I do it willingly, although sometimes I spend up to five hours helping in just one day.
I enjoy being apart of my community very much, and try to help as much as I can. Even if it is as small as sticking up for someone, I still believe that any act of help or kindness is never wasted. I hope that one day I can be the inspirational and successful person that young kids look up to, just like how I looked up the leaders of our community when I was young.

Outside the classroom

Starting my sixth grade year of middle school I have played volleyball all year round, including summer. I believe that being apart of a team not only teaches leadership and guidance, but also gives you a sense of friendship and community. I have won awards like “Coach’s Award” for helping others and practicing hard on my own time. I’ve also won awards for my skill including “MVP” and “Floor Burn Award” for always sticking it through and never giving up. Recently I tried out for soccer for the first time in my life and got the “Most Improved” award. Being apart of a loving team is something that will forever be a big part of my high school experience.
