Goals and interests
- Career goal
I am currently working as a preschool teacher, which allows me to gain valuable hands-on experience in early childhood education while I am pursuing my degree. My ultimate goal is to become a licensed elementary school teacher. I currently hold, a Credential/Certificate in Early Childhood 0-3 years and Preschool 3-5 years. I also hold a Substitute Teaching License which also allows me to gain more hands-on experience in K-12 while working toward my degree. Working in these school settings has helped me develop foundational skills in classroom management, child development, and lesson planning, which I know will serve me well as I transition into teaching at the elementary level. These jobs are an important steppingstone on my path, giving me both practical experience and insight into how young children learn and grow and how I learn and grow with them.
- Outside the classroom
Outside of my professional and academic goals, I’m a creative and energetic person who finds joy in both simple moments and new experiences. I love to craft and create, whether it's hands-on art projects or DIY home ideas. I’ve always had a playful, silly, and lighthearted personality—traits that serve me well working with young children. I genuinely enjoy laughing, learning, and being present in the moment, especially when I’m with my two amazing sons, who keep me on my toes and fill my life with adventure. As a single mother, I’ve learned the value of independence, resilience, and balance. Family is a cornerstone in my life, and I cherish every opportunity to grow and have fun with my boys—whether we’re swimming, planting things together, or dancing around to early 2000s pop/rock music. I’ve always been more of a tomboy, so raising two boys feels like a perfect fit. We don’t worry about staying spotless; instead, we focus on making memories. I love the calming energy of plants, my most favorite is the scent and color of lavender. I enjoy the peace that comes with a clean, organized space. These small but meaningful parts of my life reflect who I am: a nurturing, curious, and joyful person who finds beauty in both structure and spontaneity.

President of the Parent Group for my son's early childhood education classroom, 2 years in a row. We were responsible for organizing different events throughout the year such as, Father Engagement night, parades/rally's, Holiday events such as Mother's Day while also putting together an End of Year BBQ. We put together crafts and have many different game nights. This bridges the gaps from home to school and allows everyone a free meal and to enjoy the fun!
