About
Relevance of Achievements to Life Goals
Direct Alignment with Professional Licensure
My primary life goal is to obtain professional certification and licensure to practice as a dedicated counselor. Maintaining a 3.67 GPA in the Bachelor of Science in Counseling program provides the rigorous theoretical foundation necessary to meet state licensing standards. Deeply engaging in advanced coursework like PCN-360 equips me with the clinical knowledge required to directly support families navigating the complex intersection of substance use disorders and domestic trauma.
Bridging Advocacy and Clinical Practice
My volunteer work and advocacy for treating mental health and substance abuse as co-occurring disorders directly inform my career vision. In the behavioral health field, addressing dual diagnoses is critical, as mental health challenges and substance use are frequently deeply intertwined. My academic research into family systems, relapse prevention, and case management provides the structural framework needed to turn this advocacy passion into effective, evidence-based clinical practice.
Community Impact and Peer Support
Developing a benchmark community education project and establishing an academic support service demonstrate a lifelong commitment to community leadership, education, and peer empowerment. These achievements directly mirror my goal of becoming an accessible, trusted resource for vulnerable populations. By helping others navigate academic and behavioral health concepts today, I am actively building the communication and leadership skills required to be an impactful advocate and counselor tomorrow.
