About

I’m Christie Lowry, and my academic journey is deeply personal. I’m currently pursuing a BA in Psychology with a minor in Sociology at Southern New Hampshire University, while also earning a doctorate in holistic medicine through Rockwell. These studies are more than degrees—they’re part of my healing, my purpose, and my commitment to helping others find peace and strength in their own lives.
Living with chronic health challenges has taught me resilience, compassion, and the power of emotional connection. I’ve spent years as a caregiver and emotional guide for my family, especially my two sons, using creative tools like art, music, and storytelling to help them navigate conflict and grow emotionally. These experiences have shaped my dream: to build Peaceful Mind Space, a free, community-rooted healing hub that offers trauma-informed resources, emotional education, and creative empowerment—especially for youth and marginalized voices.
Even when I’m confined to bed, I continue to study, write, and design with hope in my heart. I believe that healing should be accessible to everyone, and that even small acts of empathy can create ripple effects of change. My journey is proof that adversity can be transformed into purpose, and that education is a powerful tool for love, liberation, and lasting impact.

Goals and interests

Career goal

My intended path isn’t just a career—it’s a calling rooted in healing, compassion, and service. I’m working toward creating Peaceful Mind Space, a free, community-centered hub for trauma-informed care, emotional education, and creative empowerment. My dream is to offer accessible support to youth, families, and marginalized voices who often go unheard. I want to build a space where healing is gentle, inclusive, and rooted in love.
Once I complete my studies in psychology, sociology, and holistic medicine, I plan to offer free counseling through video and text, making care available to those who need it most—regardless of income or location. Even with health challenges that limit my mobility, I know I can still be a powerful contributor to society. My goal is to turn lived experience into lifelines for others, and to create ripple effects of healing that reach far beyond myself.
This path is deeply personal. It’s about transforming adversity into purpose, and using education as a tool to uplift, connect, and restore. I’m not just preparing for a job—I’m preparing to build a sanctuary where every person feels seen, safe, and worthy of healing.

Graduate school interests

My interest in graduate school is rooted in a deep desire to transform pain into purpose. I’m pursuing advanced studies in psychology, sociology, and holistic healing because I believe education is a powerful tool for compassion, connection, and change. These fields speak to my lived experience—navigating chronic health challenges, guiding my children through emotional growth, and building inclusive spaces for healing.
Graduate school will allow me to deepen my understanding of trauma, emotional resilience, and community care. It’s the next step in bringing Peaceful Mind Space to life—a free, trauma-informed healing hub where youth and marginalized voices can access emotional education, creative expression, and gentle support. I want to create ripple effects of healing, train others in trauma-informed care, and publish work that blends science, empathy, and art.
Even when my body slows me down, my heart stays committed. Grad school isn’t just a goal—it’s a promise to keep learning, keep serving, and keep building a world where healing is accessible to all.
