Goals and interests
- Career goal
I have been working as a Para Educator II for the past 6 1/2 years. This time has been spent in Self-Contained Classrooms with children that have been mostly classified as having severe and profound disabilities. I have learned a great deal from the Teachers, Occupational and Physical Therapists, Speech Therapists/Feeding Therapists, Adaptive P.E. Teachers, Adaptive Music Teachers, fellow Para Educators, the families, and especially the students that I have had the privilege of working with. I plan to teach in a Self-Contained Life Skills setting such as those that I have worked in. This is where my heart is and where I feel my skills and education can be best utilized.
- Graduate school interests
Due to the new certification requirements by Arizona Department of Education, I am looking into working towards a Masters Degree in Special Education. This will allow me to obtain a certification to work with children that have been classified as having severe and profound disabilities.
