About

I am a single mother of two teenage boys, and am working on my Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have been in the Information Technology field for almost 30 years, and have decided to change my career path to follow my passion of helping others. I have always enjoyed learning how the brain works and helping others. My desire is to help individuals with high functioning autism or similar disabilities learn how to manage their disability in the academic and professional settings.

Goals and interests

Career goal

My goal with my degree is to work with people such as my son, to help them learn how to manage difficult decisions and situations. My desire is to not just to counsel them, but to also provide methods in which they can learn through others and real-life situations, such as shopping at a store, or dealing with an unfamiliar situation. In addition, if the client is a minor, I desire to counsel the parents to help them better understand and provide the best help for their child. Ultimately my goal is to help families navigate high-functioning Autism.
