About

I completed an Associate's of Science Degree at Salt Lake Community College before getting my high school diploma. I did this while going to Brighton High School and working part-time. I received multiple honor-roll awards at Brighton High School and on a few occasions, I was able to obtain a 4.0 grade point average. Eventually I was the only student at my high school to graduate with an Associate's Degree. While I did well in most classes, biology was the subject I always found myself most interested in. My achievements aren't restricted to academics. I recently lost 60 pounds by eating right and getting adequate, frequent exercise. My body-fat ratio and overall level of fitness have improved markedly, to where I feel 100% fit, happy and very confident. I take excellent care of my heath by eating proper portions of healthy, homemade food; by exercising daily and by avoiding unhealthy habits. I am very grateful for all the good things of life and I look forward to being a force for good in the world.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I am currently enrolled as a Biology major at the university of Utah and I would like to have the opportunity to work in research on or near campus. My accomplishments thus far, including an Associate's Degree at the age seventeen, as well as my commitment to a disciplined life-style, will be instrumental as I pursue my educational goals. Eventually, I would like to put my knowledge of biology to work for the betterment of human health, and thus improve people's overall quality of life. The growing threat posed by new viruses and drug-resistant bacteria will continue to push the field of biological sciences to the forefront, promising plenty of fresh challenges and career opportunities for talented and committed professionals. I see great opportunities to make meaningful contributions to society, which makes biology and very attractive and personally rewarding professional field. It is important for me to know that what I do helps make this world a better place. I see endless challenges and opportunities all around us when it comes to physical, mental, and environmental health. Taking care of people and their environment is a priority, if we are to survive and thrive as a species. I see no greater objective to work for the health of our society and habitat. These are but a few of the reasons why I am very interested in Biology.

Graduate school interests

Going to graduate school isn't something I have set in stone at the moment, but it is in my interest. I would like to further my college career at the university of Utah and find out what opportunities are available before I make the decision to go to graduate school.
