Clarissa Barreto Gonzalez

My name is Clarissa Barreto Gonzalez I am a Early College High School graduate located on Brookhaven Campus in Dallas College in Farmers Branch, Texas where I not only received my high school diploma but my Associate of Science, too. I was accepted and admitted into the University of Dallas, but during the five-day orientation I found that it was not the school I was looking for and was disappointed when about half of my college credits (34 out of 73) where only being accepted. It felt as if all of my effort was being lost. I withdrew from UD and reapplied to The University of Texas at Arlington where I will be majoring in Spanish and minoring in Organizational Science. I should be done in about four semesters and hope to graduate by fall 2025. My education at UTA should allow me to enter the human resources field after earning my certification in HR. I have always loved helping people; ever since my dad started to experience issues at his work and I had to start helping him instead of HR, it really sparked my interest. Additionally, I would like to help the Hispanic community close the language barrier gap in the workforce. Thank you for this opportunity and your generosity.
