About

At the end of my eighth grade year, I realized that I wanted to explore more about engineering and computer sciences, so in result I chose to be in intro to engineering and architectural drafting for my freshman year. When the year was coming to an end, I decided to take the rest of the engineering classes because I gained an immense amount of passion for engineering and architecture. I also started to watch all of the TV shows dealing with remodeling, interior design, and building homes. My mother got me into watching Property brothers at first, but then I started watching the rest of the shows on HGTV and it has been very inspiring to me to see others helping others live the life they want to live in a dream home, also how their minds work with imagination and going outside the box with their ideas for interior design and remodels. During my junior year of high school I took a class called Civil Engineering and Architecture, which my teacher was once an architect himself. The one project that really increased my passion for architecture is when we had to make a mock restaurant or gas station for the Meridian Police Department’s scenario village. The scenario village is designed for their trainees so they can get real case scenario training before they go out into the real world. My colleagues and I were an outstanding team and had an impressive, and eye opening proposal for this task. We had to present our ideas in front of a panel made up of civil engineers, architects, police officers, and a couple of the school’s supervisors. This was very nerve racking when u have older adults that are who u want to become in the future listening to your presentation that you did stutter a couple of times on words and forgot a couple of details, but in the end went well. We really sold our plan to the panel, which got us to win best in presentation, out of twelve groups, but they liked our drawings and our ideas for the project, and they also liked how we took into account of what they want and don’t want for the buildings. Ever since that class it became my dream to be an architect and to be able to create homes that everyone will feel safe and comfortable in. I have been drawing out plans almost all year on my free time to be ready to show in college.

Goals and interests

Career goal

My intended job path is to Master in the Architecture program at the University of Arizona. While in that process I want to intern at a firm. Once I graduate with my masters I want to meet up with my friend from high school who took an Architecture class with me and make our own firm together.

Outside the classroom

I like to draw a lot. Not just your normal drawings, but drawing plans for houses as well. I also love to sometimes sit back and play some video games. But I really dedicate my time to drawing because that's what I have a string passion for. Lastly I play softball for a sport, and hip hop dance for fun.
