About

New Graduate RN position. I will graduate with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in April 2026 and bring more than 15 years of hands-on behavioral health experience as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician. I am excited to transition into the RN role within an organization known for clinical excellence and patient-centered care.
Throughout my career, I have developed advanced skills in crisis intervention, therapeutic communication, suicide risk assessment, and medication administration in high-acuity psychiatric settings. In my current role, I routinely triage both medical and psychiatric crises, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and monitor patients for subtle changes in condition. My extensive frontline experience has strengthened my clinical judgment, prioritization, and ability to remain calm and effective in fast-paced environments.
I am particularly drawn to Med-Surg and Behavioral Health because they require strong assessment skills, adaptability, and compassionate patient advocacy. However, I am open to new areas as I start my new role as an RN. My background working with complex behavioral patients has prepared me to support diverse patient populations, manage challenging situations professionally, and contribute positively to unit workflow and team collaboration.
In addition to my clinical experience, I offer bilingual Spanish proficiency, strong documentation skills, and a consistent record of building therapeutic rapport with patients and families. I am confident these strengths will allow me to contribute meaningfully as a new graduate nurse while continuing to grow within Sutter’s nurse residency environment.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss my experience and passion for patient care and how they align with your team’s needs. I look forward to the possibility of contributing to your hospital’s commitment to high-quality, compassionate care.
Sincerely,

Claudia Olivares
