About
I am currently a Masters student at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley studying Public Administration. Since graduating high school I have always wanted to give back to my community and my country. I enlisted in the United States Navy in 2006 where I served a four year term. My time on active duty was highlighted by two Middle East deployments and humanitarian relief efforts in Galveston, Texas and Port au Prince, Haiti. I was honorably discharged in 2010 and continue to serve as an active duty reservist until 2021. My appreciation for public service materialized early in my collegiate career after completing my undergraduate government credits. I was able to obtain an internship with a local city in Texas where my passion for public service was elevated. Upon graduation from the University of Houston I obtained a position as a history teacher to continue serving my local community through education. When I obtain my graduates degree I plan to transition into administration where I want to address shortcomings and attempt to implement proven strategies to correct deficiencies in local school districts.
