About
The centerpiece of my life is the study of, engagement with and teaching of the making of our modern world. History has been the lifeblood of my existence since I was very young and that passion has only escalated dramatically over time. The more I discover, the more I realize the true nature of our world: it is a Pandora's box, a educational hydra of the most positive sort, with one question answered meaning five more spring up in its place. This continuous pursuit of knowledge has driven me forward to some of the most unexpected of books, places and adventures, all of which have been vital to the steady construction of my ever-evolving understanding. My time at UC Santa Cruz taught me such a great deal about the making of our modern world, about the vitality of critically re-examining historical events and the dangers of historical revisionism, and about putting in the work to become the change we want to see in the world, rather than acting as armchair historians pontificating on the sidelines. My stellar education by incredible professors helped to create the historical lens through which I view the world and interact with it. History is not just my interest, it truly has become the centerpiece of my life's work, and from the moment I graduated in 2021, I knew that my future was secure, because I will always give my passion my full, undivided commitment... because why would any of us do anything less?

Highest Honors in the Major, Cum laude
As a UC Santa Cruz undergrad, I worked diligently to ensure that I would graduate with the highest honors in the major, fully knowing just how meaningful that distinction is. Despite a severe bout of COVID-19 in 2020, I still managed this achievement.

President's List
While pursuing my associate degree at Gavilan College, my passion for the subjects I chose to fulfil my prerequisite courses led m to be very successful, achieving President's List status several times.
Goals and interests
- Career goal
I fully intend by career to be one within the field of history, helping to explain our collective past and be an active participant in the history, national politics, and geopolitics of our modern world. My current trajectory in that regard is to become a university history professor. I want to pursue this career because I believe that the tangibility of history has become lost on such a large percentage of the population, with all the inherent dangers fully attached. I believe that history is taught poorly in many circumstances, leading to a completely damnable disinterest in the dedicated study of history by our modern world. History is not boring, but the way that it is taught is, and as such is a gross misrepresentation of our collective past. Without an engaging, emotional, intense, tangible narrative by which we begin to understand how we got to where we are, how can we possibly create a decent roadmap to move forward?
Despite my full dedication to becoming a university history professor, this path is not my monolithic ambition. As someone fully engaged in national politics, geopolitics, and world events, any career in which I can fully play my part to make a historical impact is a career that will be fully satisfying to me. These potential futures can include becoming a journalist, news anchor, newspaper editor, politician, institute researcher, full-time humanitarian worker, amongst other potentially-yet-unknown careers. My main purpose is not my own notoriety; my purpose is instead to be a useful human node for the contextualization of our modern world, an advocate on how we can best collectively move forward based on what we know, and a fully active participant in recent, current and ongoing events.
- Graduate school interests
As a Californian, I have primary interest in attending a grad school in my state, including UCLA, UC Berkley, UC Davis, Stanford University, amongst others. However, if I am accepted into a PhD program in a different state at a better university (Ivy Leagues obviously being the top choice), I will gladly relocate outside of California. My ultimate goal is to be accepted into the graduate program that best suits my interests, drives and passions as a historian.
- Outside the classroom
I have always believed that each of us are charged with creating our own personal paradise. I live my life filled with adventure of the truest sort, which sometimes entails calculated risk with high reward. That for me has encompassed many things that leave me feeling so consistently satisfied with my countless hobbies. From being an avid hiker, exploring hundreds of miles of incredible Californian mountain ranges, to practicing respectful urban exploration, where abandoned buildings and ruins are thoroughly explored and the motto "take only photographs, leave only footprints" is vigorously followed, to near-daily practicing my staff spinning, the meditative flow art that hones the mind-body connection, to following my list of "non-negotiables", the things that I do every day without exception, including meditation, vigorous physical exercise, and reading some of the greatest works of non-fiction, psychology and philosophy ever to be bestowed upon humanity, my life stays packed with hobbies that all encompass my undying, excited belief that there will always be more to learn in this incredible world.

Volunteering

As my humanitarian volunteer work for the war in Ukraine intensified, I was recruited to join another humanitarian NGO, which originally specialized in "humanitarian optimization", helping other humanitarian organizations dedicated to this war to overcome the many, various problems that inevitably arise when engaging in volunteer work in the midst of a full-scale war. I was originally brought on as a writer for the organization, helping to write their website, and then I became part of a delegation that traveled to Kyiv, Ukraine in July 2022 to meet with representatives of the Ukrainian government and a host of heroic Ukrainian humanitarian NGOs, to discuss how we can best support their missions. As a result of these meetings and many further developments, we have moved operations out of Poland and are now fully engaged inside Ukraine itself, directly lending our organization's support to ameliorate the suffering caused by this horrific conflict. I am still fully (remotely) involved in this humanitarian volunteer work, have enjoyed significant successes, and would love to talk far more about it. Do not hesitate to ask.

In the aftermath of the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, I determined to travel to Lublin, Poland to become a humanitarian aid volunteer worker, in order to play my small part helping to ameliorate the profound suffering forced on the people of Ukraine by this brutal conflict. In a warehouse near the Ukrainian border, I worked alongside dozens of Ukrainian refugees to unpack, sort, repack and send thousands of tons of donated humanitarian aid of all kinds (food, medicine, medical equipment, clothes, etc.) into Ukraine, to go to communities where war-induced supply shortages have hit the hardest. As a result, our humanitarian NGO has successfully sent over 6,000 tons of humanitarian aid into Ukraine.
