About

A proud Chicano of the San Francisco Bay Area, I majored in Economics and minored in Inequality Studies at Cornell University. Upon
graduation, I became an City Year AmeriCorps Member where he served as a tutor, mentor, and role model at an inner city and predominantly Spanish speaking high school in downtown Los Angeles. Thereafter, I was served Peace Corps Uganda as a teacher, the National Director of Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) Day, and a Technical Trainer for incoming volunteers. I am now pursuing a dual MBA/MS in Environmental Justice degree at the University of Michigan where I served on the Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee for his dual-degree Student Advisory Board and the Academics Director for Net Impact last year. For the last couple of years, I have been an active member of the Ross Student Ambassador Program, the Nonprofit Board Fellowship, and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee of the Ross Energy Club.

Goals and interests

Career goal

Working in the education sector solidified my desire to empower individuals and communities through grassroots means. Still, my real passion lies in fighting climate change. Given my knowledge base, my life experiences, and overall skillset, I know working for a business that utilizes sustainable practices will yield the largest impact. Indeed, altering the economic foundations of a community in an environmentally sustainable way will be the primary sources of change in the world for generations to come – I want to be at the forefront of this transformation.
