Goals and interests

Career goal

After earning my bachelor's degree, I plan to explore the education opportunities around me to secure me a teaching position in the Knoxville area.

Graduate school interests

East Tennessee State University- Clemmer College: 18 mo. Honors Secondary Education M.A.T program

Outside the classroom

My sorority does a lot of school affiliated and sisterhood events, so I really enjoy taking part in those and growing a bond. Outside of school, I love to go home and visit my family. We are very tight-knit and I often travel with my brothers out of state for baseball tournaments. I also like to include my job as a hobby. While it does provide a source of income, I genuinely enjoy working at a consignment store. I am unable to work as many hours as I normally do, due to student teaching taking a chunk of my time.

American Eagle outfitters & Aerie I had worked for American Eagle as a sales associate for 4 years. Throughout my employment, I have participated in professional development opportunities that have earned additional privileges and endorsements. After my first six months, I was promoted to Core Associate with responsibilities including mentoring of junior associates, additional hours, and priority assignments within the store. My manager attributed increased sales to my efforts and has given stellar feedback on my contributions to the store culture and sales goals.

  • As a member of the Loudon County community and student leader, I chose to participate in multiple volunteer efforts that would contribute to my future goals. I shadowed teachers at the primary, junior, and secondary levels and participated in planning sessions.

  • I volunteered at two county middle schools in mentoring junior high girls’ volleyball teams through summer camps and afternoon practices.

  • I coordinated and participated in fundraising efforts towards educational foundations such as a Prom Dress Consignment Sale each year sponsored at the University of Tennessee. I would assist young girls in the county to consign their dresses at the event by processing applications and transporting the gowns. The proceeds from the sale went to non-profit charities in the Greater Knoxville Area.

    Loudon High School

    Jan 2017 – Apr 2017

  • In my junior year of high school, I was chosen by the faculty and administration to be one of three representatives at American Legion Auxiliary (ALA) Volunteer Girls State which focuses on empowering strong leaders and is centered on citizenship, teamwork, and fostering a love of God and country. Each year, schools from across the state choose two to three student leader delegates to represent their school at this prestigious annual event. I received financial assistance to attend the event through sponsorship from the Loudon Rotary Club. ALA’s mission is to empower Tennessee’s promising young women to become and remain civically engaged leaders through experiential learning and relevant, inspiring growth opportunities. During my Girls State experience, I was appointed by my city as a City Council woman to be its voice. My participation at Girls State taught me that I was responsible to represent American citizenship and to collaborate with other state delegates to inspire through positive involvement in my community.
