About
I am the grandchild of three immigrants born and raised in Watsonville, California. My obachan (grandmother) is an immigrant from Japan, my nonna (grandmother) is from Argentina, and my nonno (grandfather) is from Italy. I am a second generation college student, following in the footsteps of my mother.
When I was younger I was chosen to participate in the Watsonville-Kawakami sister city exchange program, where I stayed with a host family for ten days in Japan. A few years after, I earned my black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and competed in the 5th Muju World Tae Kwon Do Expo in South Korea. Throughout my life I have also gone to Mexico a few times with my church, feeding the hungry and constructing houses and other facilities.
As a young adult I worked during my junior college and university experience pre-COVID. During university I worked at a hotel as a bellman and rose through the ranks and became a supervisor for banquets, as well as picking up side jobs such as house sitting, yard work, and dog walking in order to fund my educational pursuits.
As I wrap up this section of my educational career, I would like to take a break. During this break, I want to be involved in my community and volunteer to give back to those in need, especially the children. I feel that this humanitarian and field work will further humble me and will give me mandatory life experience if I am to become a teacher.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I am passionate about education and I hope to follow my mother's footsteps and become and elementary school teacher. I want to be a positive male role model to my future students, and teach with empathy and cultural awareness to dismantle gender norms and ethnocentrism in this country. I often read the works of Paulo Freire, Linda Darling-Hammond, and Jeannie Oakes, to influence my ever forming pedagogy.
