I have wanted to be a teacher for many years. But, as many adults can attest, life has a funny way of getting off-track. I originally earned my Associates in Science degree from McHenry County College in 2004. In 2003/2004 school year, I made the President's List and Dean's List for superior grades. I then transferred to the University of Nevada in Las Vegas for Elementary Education. There, I earned a 3.8 GPA. Unfortunately, during that time, my father-in-law died in an accident, so we decided to move back to Illinois. My goal was to resume my education at Northern Illinois University. However, in 2007, the housing market crash hit the southwest and we weren't able to sell our house. So, with the financial burden of the housing market, my educational plans were put on hold. Now, eight years later, I am finally back on track and fulfilling my long-time dream of becoming a teacher. Throughout my past sixty-five credits, I have maintained a 3.95 GPA. I am a very dedicated and hard-working student, employee and mother. I know I will make an excellent teacher someday.
