Goals and interests
- Career goal
I have shown passion for my major by consistently choosing opportunities that allow me to communicate with purpose, support others, and create understanding in my community. Whether through my work, my education, or my role as a single parent, I’ve learned how powerful clear communication can be in helping people feel seen and supported. Every class I take strengthens my ability to write, speak, and connect across different experiences, and I apply those skills daily—whether I’m helping someone navigate a difficult situation, breaking down complex information, or advocating for fairness and clarity. My passion shows in the way I stay committed, learn quickly, and approach challenges with resilience and intention.
I am making a difference in my chosen field by using communication as a tool for advocacy and empowerment. My goal is to work in roles that uplift families, youth, and individuals who often feel unheard, and I’m already building that foundation through community involvement, leadership, and a deep commitment to service. I want to use my voice to bridge gaps, reduce misunderstandings, and help people access the resources and support they need. By pursuing a career in communication and public service, I am turning my passion into a pathway for change—one that allows me to uplift my community, honor my family’s legacy, and create a better future for my child and others who look to me for guidance.
- Outside the classroom
My hobbies include reading, writing—especially poetry—solving puzzles, cooking, and learning new things. I enjoy activities that challenge my mind, spark creativity, and allow me to explore new ideas or skills. Reading and writing help me express myself and process my experiences, while puzzles strengthen my problem‑solving abilities. Cooking gives me a creative outlet and a way to care for the people I love. Above all, I’m passionate about learning, whether it’s discovering new information, exploring different perspectives, or developing practical skills that help me grow.
