About
I am a registered nurse working in Labor and Delivery in a rural hospital. I care for antepartum, interpartum, postpartum, and newborns. On days when I am not bust with L&D patients, I also care for patients on Med surge floor and the Swing bed patients. I am also a Registered Pharmacy Technician, and teach at the Midland College as an Adjunct Faculty. I have work experience as a pre/post op nurse, scrub nurse, ER nurse, and as a CNA supplemental instructor.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
Labor and Delivery was not my first, second, or third choice. Since becoming a L&D nurse, I've found a passion that I enjoy. I plan on getting my certificate as a lactation consultant, and in two years of working in this field I plan on taking a test to become a certified L&D nurse. I plan to move into a manager position for the hospital I work at in the next two or three years.
- Graduate school interests
I would like to become more knowledgeable in my field at work. After I obtain my BSN, I plan to study for my certification as an OB nurse. I will also be enrolling in classes online for a Bachelors in Health Management. My goal is to become a more proficient nurse.
- Outside the classroom
In my spare time, I like to read and catch up on shows that I've missed out while in school. I love to go horseback riding, and you can usually find me outside caring for our horses or dogs. I tend to my garden most evenings and weekends. I love to travel, go swimming, and float the river when I can.
