Highly accomplished and visionary Social Services leader with over two decades of dedicated experience in healthcare and community support, specializing in optimizing patient outcomes and clinical operational efficiency. Proven ability to develop and implement strategic solutions that bridge the gap between clinical excellence and comprehensive life resource management. Expertise includes maximizing clinical staff capacity (specifically Resident Care Managers - RCMs), mitigating compliance risk (MDS, Grievance Tracking, Advance Directives), and significantly enhancing patient and family satisfaction. Seeking to leverage vast knowledge of psychosocial support, regulatory requirements (RCW, WACS), and resource procurement to establish a critical staff liaison role, transforming non-clinical burdens into strategic organizational advantages and driving superior quality of care. Strong background spanning Director of Social Services (4 years), Family Time Facilitation (11 years), Care Coordination, and Emergency Medical Services (EMT/FF1). Currently pursuing a Bachelor's in Social Science with a 3.97 GPA.
Key Areas of Expertise
Clinical & Operational Strategy: Expert in offloading non-clinical administrative and psychosocial responsibilities from clinical staff to improve their focus on patient assessments, care plans, and staff mentorship. Goals and interests
- Career goal
(SW) with a specialization in Case Management. My passion lies in developing and implementing new initiatives and peer support programs specifically designed for cancer patients in rural hospitals. I plan to focus on securing additional programs and services and obtain the vital funding and support for these patients while serving as their strongest advocate, ensuring they can dedicate their full energy to their fight against cancer. The knowledge we've gained in this course is directly applicable to managing the complex cases, coordinating essential resources, and understanding the systemic barriers that these vulnerable patients face.
Professionally, the last ten years have been a journey: I spent my initial years in children and family services before a sudden and dramatic shift led me into geriatrics and healthcare. After five years in this latter field, I've felt a little burnt out, which has unexpectedly sparked a new passion and motivation to fight for new initiatives and positions in rural settings to support cancer patients and families impacted by health issues.
