Curtis Gillespie

I am a current senior at East Lake High School and I am in the National English Honor Society and the president of the SADD club (Students Against Destructive Decisions). I am planning on studying criminal law after high-school and I am getting experience now through an internship through St. Petersburg College with Hendry & Parker law firm, a firm that does a mix of Family Law, Personal Injury (P.I.) law, and Criminal Law. I will have experienced 2 court hearings by the end of the internship on the side of the defense on 2 DUI cases. As for my plans for college I am unsure on where I want to go exactly. However, as of now at least, I see Stetson University as my likeliest choice, but Duke University School of Law is my dream school in North Carolina, not just because of the schools prestige, but also because a majority of my family live near Duke in NC. As for my future dreams I hope to become a private defense attorney with focus on Criminal Law. My desire to go into criminal defense mostly comes from my interest in the process by which many cases are done, from the collection of information to the legal process of which the court has jurisdiction in the case itself, but mostly from media like shows and movies that I watched when I was younger.
