About

Hi, my name is Dana Badwan and I am a psychology major attending Colorado Mountain College with the hopes of becoming a child life specialist. My college career had actually started two years prior to me even graduating high school. My high school had provided me with the opportunity to take college level classes that would also go towards my high school transcript. This had allowed me to graduate high school with over a year of college completed as well. After this semester at Colorado Mountain College I plan on transferring to Marquette University and finishing my degree there. Moving from Breckenridge, Colorado too Milwaukee, Wisconsin will definitely be big change. See, I was born and raised in the bubble that is Breckenridge and am both excited and sad to leave it. My family and I have been in Breckenridge for so long I can't imagine what it is like to not wake up and see the Rocky Mountains. That being said, it is important for me step outside of my comfort zone and to have a change of environment. This move will benefit both my education and growth as a human, and I can't wait for it to happen!

Goals and interests

Career goal

I am currently studying to become a Child Life Specialist. I plan on working with both children and their families, in a hospital environment, to help them cope while going through those tough times. This could include me explaining a procedure to a child or even playing with them while they undergo leukemia. This career path includes both psychology and child development.

Graduate school interests

After I receive my bachelors in Psychology, I do plan on furthering my education and going back for my masters as well.

Outside the classroom

I have recently gotten into working on my physical and mental health. I will attend the gym five days a week and in-between go snowboarding every now and then. I will also do three positive affirmations to gain more self confidence and to help my mental health.
