About
I am a retired Marine Corps veteran and am now focusing on furthering my education. During my undergraduate degree search, I became captivated by the issues that impact society. This fascination led me to pursue a degree in the Social Sciences, where I could engage in interdisciplinary research that contributes to social advancement. After completing this degree, I found myself drawn to my Kinesiology roots and exploring options in MS Exercise Physiology. I would bring my Social Science degree and unify it to help society with the growing aging population, for my primary focus would be to aid post-cardiac affected patients in living their best lives.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
My future goal was to obtain my certification in Social Work. Bringing change at the micro and macro levels was my natural progression. My compassion and relatable life experiences guided me in that direction to bring change. Since completing my BS in Social Sciences, I found myself at a crossroads. As a Social Worker, I found that it would benefit a select population, but I found my focus drawn to an ever-growing aging population. A base in Social Sciences, primarily Gerontology, builds a foundation to help a different population with post-cardiac inflicted rehabilitation methodologies.
- Graduate school interests
I have been selected for the Master's program at Concordia University Chicago. My major will be Exercise Physiology, which aligns with my background in Social Science and my goal to achieve my previous aspirations of becoming a social worker. The connection is my compassionate personality, which I would use to work with post-cardiac afflicted patients.
- Outside the classroom
My hobbies are volunteering and culinary arts. I find that instilling social and personal development in the youth in my community gives me a sense of purpose while also bringing me happiness. I also enjoy cooking with my family and replicating food from different cultures that I experienced during my travels during my time in the Marine Corps.
