About

While attending University of Louisiana at Lafayette, I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology. I am intrigued by the study of the earth and its material composition. As a geology student, I have a greater appreciation of our planet’s past, as it is today and how it will change in the future. I feel I have strong skills in thinking analytically, visualization and creativity along with a sound academic foundation necessary to this profession. I am confident that I have skills necessary for learning advanced technology, computer programming, and database management along with good writing and communication skills. I am eager to further learn and develop skills to be prepared to experience the challenges of today’s geologist.

Goals and interests

Career goal

I am planning a career as a geologist in the oil and gas industry to explore natural resources. As a sophomore, I have not had the opportunity to internship. I am looking forward to industry internships, field experiences and undergraduate research opportunities. I am planning to continue to work very hard to pursue my career goals. I can only hope my contribution in my chosen field of study would have a significant impact to others along my path through my lifelong career as a geologist.

Graduate school interests

I am interested in pursuing a masters degree and considering the study of geophysics.

Outside the classroom

Prior to HS graduation, I enjoyed the game of baseball and blessed to have had the opportunity to have travel the country with a travel team. I was honored to be awarded and recognized for my talent published by AAU organization. As a RHP I had many offers to continue to play at a college level. I elected to concentrate and focus on my academics and future career goal to become a geologist while giving 100% to my studies. I enjoy helping local community kids for team skills with training. I am from south Louisiana and enjoy hunting and fishing.
