Danielle Andersen

I enjoy the feeling of success after putting in hard work. I want to always do what makes me happy, learn lots, work towards change, strive for excellence, and spend ample time with family and friends. I enjoy school and science but am currently undecided on a college major.

The majority of my high school years were spent studying hard and caring for my little sister and family. My mom was very ill but in the last year received a lifesaving double lung transplant and life is beginning to normalize in 2023.

My home duties have decreased drastically, and I have had the opportunity to join the student government as Senior Class Vice President, become a TRIO Ambassador, and participate in the incredible Health-Career Exploration Summer Institute, it has all been very fun and rewarding! I was even just nominated to my county's Academic Achievement Team!

I persevere through challenges; through the hardest years of my life, I maintained a 4.0 GPA (4.46). I have dreams of making impactful changes in the science field and will not give up until my full potential is realized.

I want to take every opportunity to pay for college myself because I do not want any burden on my parents who are considered middle class but have many expenses related to my mom's recent lung transplant.

Thank you for taking the time to read about me!
