Goals and interests

Career goal

After I graduate in 2018 with my master's in professional counseling, I plan to work at a local women's prison as a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPC-Candidate) and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor Candidate (LADC-Candidate). After completing my required hours as a candidate for the state of Oklahoma, I will begin practicing as an LPC and LADC in the Oklahoma City Metroplex. Ultimately, I want to work with individuals and families who struggle with addiction.

Graduate school interests

In 2018, I will receive my master's in professional counseling. After obtaining my LPC and LADC licenses, I want to practice in the field for several years before pursuing a Ph.D. in psychology.

Outside the classroom

I enjoy writing blog entries for Reframe Blog, and I run 5Ks with friends. One of my favorite hobbies is covering folk and jazz songs acoustically. I enjoy playing chef each evening. I really love to cook and to create new gluten free recipes for my family. During the spring and fall, I hike and photograph wildlife, refuges, national parks, and other beautiful places with my husband. Several times a year, I get to help host or direct Model United Nations conferences for college students. That is probably my favorite hobby.
