Goals and interests

Career goal

My intended job path is to obtain a Masters in Social Work so that I can have my own private practice or I would like to work at the VA with Veterans.

Graduate school interests

My Grad school interest is to obtain a Masters in Social Work and possibly a Doctorate in Social work.

Outside the classroom

I genuinely love the arts. I am an artist. I enjoy painting with acrylics, fashion, and helping people piece together others' outfits. I also enjoy photography, taking pictures, long walks, exercise, the symphony, and anything related to creativity and innovation.

Volunteering

  • I am very passionate about mental health and those in need of healing and freedom, which brought me to a recovery group called Forever Free. While volunteering at Forever Free, I led small groups with women, comprising anywhere from two to 15 women. My job was to facilitate the groups by making sure that each woman had the liberty to share openly and honestly without interruption. Also, as a small group leader, I was responsible for setting an atmosphere of mutual respect and transparency so that the women could continue on their healing journey of recovery. These groups ranged from women with alcohol addiction to those struggling with anorexia or relationship addiction. Serving and volunteering here was a true passion of mine. I was also responsible for being a sponsor/mentor to different women from various addictive backgrounds.
