About
I have completed my coursework in my doctoral program, and I am beginning my dissertation work. I have been a band teacher in grades 4-8 for 19 years. I teach my district's Honor Band (14 elementary schools), and I have developed many web resources used around the world, such as musicracer.com and fingering-charts.com. I am the treasurer of my local teachers' association (1400 members), and I am the communications chair of the same association (websites, newsletters, etc.) I served on my district's Curriculum Committee, and taught several seminars around the country on the use of technology in music classrooms.

Goals and interests
- Career goal
I intend to be the best teacher I can be. I would like to be an advocate for music education, as well as an advocate for quality education around Illinois and our nation. Our educational ideals should not be held hostage to the yearly wrangling of political zealots.
- Graduate school interests
I would like to complete my Ed.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Northern Illinois University.
- Outside the classroom
I love to ride my bike great distances. I am a tuba player at heart, but I can play most any band instrument reasonably well. I enjoy traveling with my wife and my family.
