About

I am David Oni, a Ph.D Nursing student at Washington State University undertaking research on the practices and knowledge of foot care among patients with diabetes. I commenced my Nursing Career at the Oyo State College of Nursing, Nigeria and graduated with Associated Degree in Nursing in 2002 and later proceeded to Imo State University to acquire Bachelor of Nursing Science (BSN). My quest for more knowledge and transformation in healthcare motivated my pursuit of Master of Nursing Science Degree (MSN) at the University of the West of Scotland United Kingdom (Just completed thesis) and later to the University of Munich Germany to specialize in Disease Epidemiology. In addition, I undertook more courses in research and article writing at Kymeenlakso University of Applied Science Finland Europe.

Graduate school interests

I have a dream! It is focused on becoming a significant healthcare policy maker and a scientific scholar to change the epidemiological patterns of diabetes and its complications among patients suffering from diabetes mellitus Worldwide. I believe that having a doctorate degree will equipped me to better understand the dynamics of patients with diabetes, diabetic foot challenges and to combine practice with most advanced theories. For this very reason, I chose WSU because it’s a research focused university. Armed with a solid understanding of academic principles and research principles, I can one day find a permanent solution to foot complications suffered by millions of diabetic patients across the globe and making life better for patients with diabetes.
